Why Can't I Lose Weight?

Why Can’t I Lose Weight?

You’ve tried eating less. You’ve taken people’s advice, stopped eating many of your favourite foods. You’ve tried to start exercise regimes that guarantee results. You may have even invested in slimming teas, detox programs, or tried weight loss medications in the past. And yet, the weight keeps coming back, and nothing seems to work. “Why can’t I lose weight?” you think to yourself.

We’re here to tell you that you can.

Are you ready for the secret to weight loss?

The secret is…that there is no secret. It’s all in the science. And the science says that the formula to weight loss is simple - the amount of energy you take in must be less than the amount of energy you use up in order for weight loss to take place.

Why Can't I Lose Weight 1

So, why can’t you lose weight? Here are some possible reasons:

  • 1. You think you’re eating less than you are
  • Without closely tracking every bit of food you consume, it is impossible to truly know how many calories you are consuming every day. Studies also show that most people significantly underestimate how much they eat daily. This could be in the form not realizing how much you are eating, as well as how many calories are in the food you are consuming. So, even if you’re consciously trying to eat less, you may not have been able to achieve the calorie deficit needed for weight loss to happen.

  • 2. Your body is not processing nutrients efficiently
  • If you are overweight, chances are you also have some degree of insulin resistance. Insulin resistance makes it difficult for your body to absorb and process nutrients, especially glucose. Your body needs this glucose for energy, and when glucose is not used efficiently, your body starts to believe it needs to take in more and more energy. This leads to you constantly feeling hungry and tired, making it even harder for you to stick to a diet and exercise plan, sabotaging your weight loss progress.

  • 3. Your body is in fat-saving mode
  • Because your body believes it does not have enough energy, it goes into energy saving mode, where it stores energy any chance that it gets. This means that any excess energy is stored as fat in your body, making it much easier to put on weight than to lose it.

  • 4. The cravings are overwhelming
  • Hormonal imbalances, restrictive eating, and inefficient nutrient processing in your body can all cause you to have cravings that are hard to ignore. Typically, we humans crave foods that are nutrient-dense - salty or sugary, usually carbs that are also high in fat. These cravings are both physical and mental, and take up a lot of emotional energy to manage and resist every day.

  • 5. Factors that can’t be changed
  • There are also factors that make it more difficult for you to lose weight, such as your genetics, age, and to some extent, your environment. It is important to acknowledge that the weight loss process looks different for everyone, and it will be easier for some than for others.

You may not be able to control the factors in point #4, but you can certainly do something about the first 3 factors. This science is the basis for Vitera’s patented Triple Effect Technology, the first of its kind in Asia.
